How to eSign a document: online signature legality for Notice of Promotion

You got a promotion! Now you need to know how to a d a promotion on LinkedIn. And you know, keep your LinkedIn profile up to date. In this video I'm going to show you how to add your promoti n to your LinkedIn profile, and how to alert your network. Because let's face it, getting hose likes and comments is a little bit of frosti g on the promotion cake. If you are ready to lear how to do this, tap that like button. And let's just jump straight into it. The first step is oing into your LinkedIn profile. So let's get into mine right now. So I can show you exactly how o do this. So here I am on my LinkedIn profile And what you are going to do if you want to foll w me along is scroll down to your experience sec ion. And here you can see that there is this andy dandy little plus icon, I want you to cli k on that, then you are going to pop in your new itle put in your company, and you can put your location, but you definitely need to put in your start date. So I'm just going to go ahead an put in my start date. And really convenient he e is LinkedIn is going to prompt you that you hav two other current positions. And it's going to give you the option to set an end date. So this tops you from having to go in and edit that ther position that you just got promoted up from I know some people leave it kind of running on heir profile, it's not going to serve your profi e to do that. So what I generally would recom end, unless you are for some reason doing two diff rent roles, like I am to check that box and it is oing to set the end date when you scroll below that you're going to have a couple of addit onal options. So first, you can update your indu try. Next, by default, it is going to choose tha you update your headline and it is going to b the LinkedIn default, your new job title plus your company name will be your default LinkedIn pr file headline, I don't recommend using this, I do recommend that you use a custom one. But i you don't have time to craft, and you really are just excited to make this update, you can leave that checked. Personally, I am going to desele t it because I have another one that I am using And then you can put in a description, if you'r not quite sure what the job is yet, or you wa t to wait until you have some accomplishments nder your belt, you can come back to this late . So that is optional. I definitely recommend for your LinkedIn profile optimization. To complet the description, I have a whole video on Lin edIn profile optimization zone. So if you want to make sure that your LinkedIn profile, you can heck that went on after this. But for now, just know that you can either pop in some info here, o you can just leave it blank if you happen to hav any media. So any links that you want to put to aybe you were just promoted into a management tea and you're hiring for a job, you can put that li k in there, most people probably don't have anyt ing. So you can actually just leave that again, u less you do have something in which case Feel fr e to add it. But I know that most of you wat hing probably don't. Now finally, there is the hare with network. So by default, based on my pr file settings, it is off, you can toggle this n or off. So if you want LinkedIn to alert all o the contacts in your network, that you have got this new job promotion, you can actually go ahea and turn that on, and people are going to cele rate you and it's gonna feel really good. And i 's a great way of keeping people updated. Now, wh ther or not you choose to do that, obviously, it's totally up to you. I definitely recommend t ough that you do alert your network to this upda e in your profile. But on the flip side, though, i you want to keep it low key, you can turn that off. And that's exactly what I'm going to do beca se I don't actually get a promotion. And I don't want to push this out to everyone. So I'm going t set mine off. And then you click Save. When you lick Save. And it's going to prompt you t add teammates, I'm just going to click done here I'm going to skip that. And now when I go o my experience section, you are going to see th t it nice like it has this progression. So Linked n is showing your career progression for you. Most people leave it here, but you my friend, y u're not done yet. Well, you're done if you wa t to totally miss the opportunity to accelerate this upward trajectory that your career is on ight now. And if that's the case, no issue. B t if you're like most of my clients, you want to make sure right now that you are capitalizing on this momentum, to create even more of an u ward trajectory in your career, there's a coup e of more steps that you can take on LinkedIn to help you do just that. Let's start with the sim lest one. And it's the one that everyone overlooks And I don't know why I guess it's so easy. It' the lowest hanging fruit take a couple of minut s to update your skills. Your position pro ably requires new skills like leadership, take few minutes to go through the skills on your Lin edIn profile and add the ones that are reflecti e of your new responsibilities in your new role. When you're setting those LinkedIn skills, make su e to consider both your hard skills and your soft skills. The next one is a little bit bolde and might make you feel a little less comfor able draft an actual LinkedIn pose to share the news about your promotion with your LinkedIn net ork. Sure, you might have toggled to let them kno and LinkedIn is broadcasting the alert but it do sn't give your network the context and they're pro ably really curious. Take a few minutes right no and write a post about the promotion that you jus got how excited you are to be taking on more responsibility or facing new challenges at wo k or how grateful you are for the mentorship of your manager that you were able to make this up evel in your career so quickly. Whatever feels like fits include that. But there are two boxes t at I would encourage you to check for this Lin edIn post. First, make sure that you are highlig ting your ua Q. And if you don't know what that s, I have a link for you in the description down b low. Just discover it. The second aim is to show gratitude. Success is never solitary. And here are people that have helped you get to wher you are today. Whether it was a really suppo tive manager, your best friend at work who is here encouraging you share a little gratitude with people that help get you there, not only s it going to make them feel good and showcase them it's also going to remind them of your awesom ness as people congratulate you once you've made that post it is time for you to get off lin and accelerate IRL. Knowing how to introduce you self in a way that is powerful and builds infl ence instantaneously is really important. And th t is exactly the topic of my next video. So i you haven't already subscribed become one of my c reer besties and we are going to break that down n my next video. But right now I want you to chec out this video to make sure that you are st ging yourself for success in your new role. If this video helps you make that update in LinkedI and let your network know about your job promo ion, give this video a thumbs up it really hel s my channel and it also makes you my favorite pe son. As always my friend thank you so muc for watching. I will see you in the next video Bye for
